Meanest pun of the year

From "Who's Bill This Time", Wait Wait…Don't Tell Me! 12/21/2019:
Peter Sagal: Mayor- Mayor Pete has been getting some heat.
I don't know if you saw this.
He attended a big fundraiser in Napa
at a winery with a, quote, "wine cave."
And everybody was so mad that he did this.
But why would you be mad about a wine cave?
It celebrates the two things Democrats are known for, whining and caving.

Cave is oenobabble, the French for cellar.
Nice (= nasty) punning.

"Whining", I understand — making a noise like a petulant child. But what does "caving" mean ? Is it the same as "caving-in" (= "giving way", "yielding", "failing to hold one's ground"), or something completely different ?

@Philip Taylor,
Correct, it's the same thing. ( https://www.lexico.com/en/definition/cave )

While I'm thinking of it, I most definitely would not hyphenate 'cave in' there. The verbs generally don't take hyphens even when the nouns do (that's how I put the rule, anyway).
