Maybe they wanted to refer to "non-configurational" languages. Does 'grammar' refer only to the morphosyntax, or does it include the structure of the proposition (which may differ from one language to another)?

JPL, if it wasn't clear from the comic already, the mouseover tells us that the joke is that there isn't any other option.
