Today's crash blossoms

Here's one sent in by Jeffrey Kallberg:

And a contribution from Laura Pearle:

She notes

I read "Facebook Alternative Diaspora Launches" as FB having an alternative to the Diaapora, or perhaps a Diaspora for alternative peoples.

This one, submitted by David Boone, turns out to be more of an odd story than a crash blossom as such:

from the last: The [Swedish] church’s…Carlos Bebeacua, has said…: “The orgasm is the ultimate feeling of lust, it shouldn’t be limited to ejaculation. You can reach it through art or by looking at a landscape and thinking ‘Wow!’”

pinin' for the fjords, are we?

I read the second as implying that something called "Diaspora", described as some kind of alternative to "Facebook" (whatever that might mean), was intended to launch on the given date. Imagine my surprise when I looked at the linked article.

    Surely the last was intentional!

It's clear that the editors of the "The Local" (the source of the article on the Bishop) have a sense of humor. Here are two more headlines on the subject from the same source:

"Court climax premature for Madonna of Orgasm Church"

"Joyous court climax for Madonna of Orgasm Church"

    Hey! Don't bash the bishop.

Did anyone notice that the headline about the bishop is immediately followed by two consecutive headlines that if not exactly crash blossoms, blew my ambiguity meter?

Drunk driver claims group sex made her flee (10 Sep 10)
Son saves father's life by cutting off his arm (9 Sep 10)

The second, of course, had me wondering whose arm was sacrificed. (it was the son who cut off Dad's arm to free him.) The first. . . well, it at least crossed my mind that "flee" might be a misprint for "flea". . . I suppose that watching your flea being abused in this terrible way might drive anyone to drink.
