And sure enough, this evening's presidential debate provided a counterexample.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->According to CNN's instant transcript, John McCain said:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">By the way, my friends, I know you grow a little weary with this back-and-forth. It was an energy bill on the floor of the Senate loaded down with goodies, billions for the oil companies, and it was sponsored by Bush and Cheney.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> You know who voted for it? You might never know. <strong>That one<\/strong>. You know who voted against it? Me.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><object classid=\"clsid:d27cdb6e-ae6d-11cf-96b8-444553540000\" width=\"425\" height=\"344\" codebase=\"http:\/\/download.macromedia.com\/pub\/shockwave\/cabs\/flash\/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0\"><param name=\"allowFullScreen\" value=\"true\" \/><param name=\"src\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/ed-k1xOCsMs&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1\" \/><\/object><\/p>\n<p>[A more extended <a href=\"http:\/\/www.printfection.com\/thatone08\">video clip<\/a> is here. And within a few hours, the T-shirts and bookbags (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thatone08.com\/\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.printfection.com\/thatone08\">here<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.zazzle.com\/stephswartz\">here<\/a>), the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/pages\/That-One-08\/28186684673\">Facebook page<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.politico.com\/blogs\/bensmith\/1008\/GOP_likes_that_one_too.html?showall\">Ben Smith at politico.com<\/a>,<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">A Republican official emails, on background:<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 60px;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"> The most memorable line of the night belonged to John McCain. McCain pointed out that \u201cThat One\u201d vote for the 05 energy bill.
