But I haven't seen any reactions to a curious linguistic innovation &#8212; or maybe it was a mistake? &#8212; that happens at about 10:52 of the interview:<\/p>\n<div style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><audio style=\"width: 230px;\" controls=\"controls\"><source src=\"http:\/\/languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu\/myl\/TrumpWallaceX1.wav\" type=\"audio\/wav\" \/>Your browser does not support the audio element.<\/audio><\/div>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px; font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #800000;\">hey Dr. Fauci said don't wear a mask<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">our surgeon general terrific guy said don't wear a mask<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">everybody was saying don't wear a mask all of a sudden everybody's got to wear a mask<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">and as you know masks cause problems too<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">with that being said<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">I'm a believer in masks I think masks are good<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">but<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">uh I leave it up to the governors<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">many of the governors are changing <strong>they're more<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">mask<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<strong><span style=\"color: #800000;\">into<\/span><\/strong><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">they like<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">the concept of masks<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #800000;\">but some of them don't agree<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Maybe this is an extension of the \"X curious\" construction?
