Reading \u201cj\u012bngzh\u00e0n x\u00ecn\u00ec \u7cbe\u6e5b\u7ec6\u817b\u201d (\"consummately exquisite\") as \u201cj\u012bng sh\u00e9n x\u00ecn\u00ec \u7cbe\u751a\u7ec6\u817b\" (\"very refined and exquisite\u201d).<\/p>\n
Reading\u201csh\u00e0ny\u01ceng \u8d61\u517b\u201d (\"support; provide for\") as \u201czh\u0101ny\u01ceng \u77bb\u4ef0\u201d (\"pay respect\").<\/p>\n
Xi has after all only xi\u01ceoxu\u00e9 shu\u01d0p\u00edng w\u00e9nhu\u00e0 ch\u00e9ngd\u00f9 \u5c0f\u5b66\u6c34\u5e73\u6587\u5316\u7a0b\u5ea6 (\"primary school level of education\"), as the late Li Rui \u674e\u9510 (1917-2019; Chinese historian and politician) had famously commented. Xi therefore shows traits of some deep inferiority complex.<\/p>\n

As previously suggested (to avoid repeated embarrassment) I have a simple solution for Xi Jinping's frequent misreadings of characters:\u00a0 write out his speeches all in Pinyin, or at least with Pinyin annotations for each character.\u00a0 And don't use pedantic, literary, classical expressions that he's not familiar with.<\/p>\n
