{"id":13990,"date":"2014-08-13T06:49:49","date_gmt":"2014-08-13T11:49:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu\/nll\/?p=13990"},"modified":"2014-08-13T15:44:35","modified_gmt":"2014-08-13T20:44:35","slug":"educational-um-uh","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu\/nll\/?p=13990","title":{"rendered":"Educational UM \/ UH"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Apologies for temporarily turning this into Conversational Filler Log\u00a0&#8212;\u00a0but I realized that my assertion in this morning's post (\"<a href=\"http:\/\/languagelog.ldc.upenn.edu\/nll\/?p=14015\" target=\"_blank\">UM \/ UH geography<\/a>\") about the effects of years of education was based on some analyses that I'd done but never posted.<\/p>\n<p>So here they are: the basic effect is that people with a 4-year college degree or better have a higher UM&thinsp;\/&thinsp;(UM+UH) proportion, on average, than people with only a high school education.
